June 16 – Latest updates on the Coronavirus outbreak in Italy


Today, June 16, at Civil Protection Department Headquarters, the Operational Committee kept working to ensure the coordination of all operations by the components and operational structures of the Italian Civil Protection Service.

As per health monitoring activities related to the spread of Coronavirus across national territory, at present 24,569 people have tested positive. To date, the total number of assessed cases in Italy is 237,500, with an increase of 210 new cases compared to yesterday. 34,405 died (34 in the past 24 hours). 178,526 patients have recovered, 1,516 more than yesterday. 177 Coronavirus patients are hospitalized in intensive care, 30 fewer than yesterday.

In detail, the number of infected people amounts to 15,233 in Lombardy, 2,450 in Piedmont, 1,405 in Emilia-Romagna, 718 in Veneto, 463 in Tuscany, 242 in Liguria, 1,229 in the Lazio, 601 in the Marche, 273 in Campania, 353 in Puglia, 64 in the autonomous province of Trento, 806 in Sicily, 99 in Friuli Venezia Giulia, 468 in Abruzzo, 93 in the autonomous province of Bolzano, 18 in Umbria, 33 in Sardinia, 10 in the Aosta Valley, 36 in Calabria, 65 in Molise e 10 in Basilicata.
