June 15 – Latest updates on the Coronavirus outbreak in Italy


Today, June 15, at Civil Protection Department Headquarters, the Operational Committee kept working to ensure the coordination of all operations by the components and operational structures of the Italian Civil Protection Service.

As per health monitoring activities related to the spread of Coronavirus across national territory, at present 25,909 people have tested positive. To date, the total number of assessed cases in Italy is 237,290, with an increase of 301 new cases compared to yesterday. 34,371 died (26 in the past 24 hours). 177,010 patients have recovered, 640 more than yesterday. 207 Coronavirus patients are hospitalized in intensive care, 2 fewer than yesterday.

In detail, the number of infected people amounts to 15,976 in Lombardy, 2,604 in Piedmont, 1,500 in Emilia-Romagna, 755 in Veneto, 489 in Tuscany, 246 in Liguria, 1,292 in the Lazio, 617 in the Marche, 289 in Campania, 410 in Puglia, 66 in the autonomous province of Trento, 805 in Sicily, 99 in Friuli Venezia Giulia, 486 in Abruzzo, 94 in the autonomous province of Bolzano, 18 in Umbria, 33 in Sardinia, 12 in the Aosta Valley, 37 in Calabria, 70 in Molise e 11 in Basilicata.

In application of the measures to contain the contagion, yesterday, June 14, the police checked 72,190 people. Those who have been reported after police checks were 142, 3 complaints for violation of the obligation to leave the home for quarantine.

Police controlled 14,281 businesses: 6 businesses were closed and 39 operators were reported.
