June 4 – Latest updates on the Coronavirus outbreak in Italy


Today, June 4, at Civil Protection Department Headquarters, the Operational Committee kept working to ensure the coordination of all operations by the components and operational structures of the Italian Civil Protection Service.

As per health monitoring activities related to the spread of Coronavirus across national territory, at present 38,429 people have tested positive. To date, the total number of assessed cases in Italy is 234,013, with an increase of 177 new cases compared to yesterday. 33,689 died (88 in the past 24 hours). 161,895 patients have recovered, 957 more than yesterday. 338 Coronavirus patients are hospitalized in intensive care, 15 fewer than yesterday.

In detail, the number of infected people amounts to 20.224 in Lombardy, 4.556 in Piedmont, 2.688 in Emilia-Romagna, 1.319 in Veneto, 883 in Tuscany, 394 in Liguria, 2.754 in Lazio, 1.303 in the Marche, 830 in Campania, 967 in Puglia, 207 in the autonomous province of Trento, 879 in Sicily, 213 in Friuli Venezia Giulia, 704 in Abruzzo, 112 in the autonomous province of Bolzano, 31 in Umbria, 108 in Sardinia, 10 in the Aosta Valley, 102 in Calabria, 125 in Molise and 20 in Basilicata. 

In application of the measures to contain the contagion, yesterday, June 3, the police checked 82,710 people. Those who have been reported after police checks were 122, 4 those reported for false attestation or declaration.

Police controlled 24,394 businesses: 17 operators were reported and 11 businesses were closed.
