Today, April 23, at Civil Protection Department Headquarters, the Operational Committee kept working to ensure the coordination of all operations by the components and operational structures of the Italian Civil Protection Service.
As per health monitoring activities related to the spread of Coronavirus across national territory, at present 106,848 people have tested positive. To date, the total number of assessed cases in Italy is 189,973, with an increase of 2,646 new cases compared to yesterday. 25,549 died (464 in the past 24 hours). 57,576 patients have recovered, 3,033 more than yesterday. 2,267 Coronavirus patients are hospitalized in intensive care, 117 fewer than yesterday.
In detail, the number of infected people amounts to 33,873 in Lombardy, 12,845 in Emilia-Romagna, 15,152 in Piedmont, 9,925 in Veneto, 6,171 in Tuscany, 3,466 in Liguria, 3,230 in the Marche, 4,486 in Lazio, 2,978 in Campania, 1,871 in the autonomous province of Trento, 2,936 in Puglia, 1,135 in Friuli Venezia Giulia, 2,301 in Sicily, 2,100 in Abruzzo, 1,494 in the autonomous province of Bolzano, 355 in Umbria, 817 in Sardinia, 823 in Calabria, 463 in Valle d’Aosta, 229 in Basilicata and 198 in Molise.
In application of the measures to contain the contagion, yesterday, April 22, the police checked 245,580 people. Those who have been reported after police checks were 5,706, 32 those reported pursuant to article 4, d.l. 25.03.2020 n. 19, 13 complaints pursuant to article 495 – 496 PC.
Police controlled 107,020 businesses: 168 operators were reported and 62 businesses were closed.
Thus, they rise to 9,531,443 people and 3,775,918 businesses checked by the police March 11 to April 22.
