Libya, Souad Sbai: “Italy must stand against the Muslim Brotherhood’s Government”

Libya: “Italy must stand against the Muslim Brotherhood’s Government that keeps Tripoli and the rest of the country in a state of war,” stated Souad Sbai during the demonstration “Stop agreements with the fundamentalism spread by the Muslim Brotherhood” that took place in Montecitorio Square.

“We ask Parliament to press Palazzo Chigi to adopt a significant change of line regarding the Libyan crisis,” explains Souad Sbai, former member of the Italian Parliament with the center-right. “In fact, Italy is not interested in continuing to support the so-called Government of National Accord (GNA) chaired by Fayez Al Sarraj, an expression of the Muslim Brotherhood’s militias financed by Emirs Al Thani’s Qatar and Erdogan’s Turkey.”

Souad Sbai: “Many threats have come to Italy”

The GNA has repeatedly sent threats to Italy. “Al Sarraj – recalls Sbai – has hinted on several occasions that he will send hundreds of thousands of immigrants from the Libyan coast if Conte’s Government stops supporting him.” Furthermore, the vice president of the GNA, Ahmed Maitig, said that thousands of ISIS terrorists, currently detained in Libyan prisons, could have reached Italy. ”

The advance of fundamentalism

“Does Italy – asks the president of ACMID – fear the threats of the Libyan Muslim Brotherhood? Is the fear of terrorist attacks the reason why Italy continues to turn a blind eye to the advance of the fundamentalism spread by the Muslim Brotherhood within its own territory? I refer to the mosques, cultural associations, imams and militants of the Muslim Brotherhood that carry out proselytizing and radicalization activities in Italy thanks to the funds received from Qatar, as documented in the research book “Qatar Papers”.

The Arab Spring has failed but …

“Despite the failure of the Arab Spring,” concludes Souad Sbai, “the Muslim Brotherhood continues to destabilize North Africa through terrorism.” From Egypt to Libya and Italy, the distance is short. The GNA in Tripoli is the bridgehead of the Brotherhood towards the Italian territory. Therefore, with the demonstration that will take place this afternoon, we intend to pressure Parliament and the Government to reject any compromise with fundamentalism in both domestic and foreign policy. ”
