The Ambassador for Peace Award will be given to Maria Pilar Buzzetti’s mother

Eight members of the World Food Program died tragically in the plane crash that took place in Ethiopia on March 10, 2018, causing a total of 157 victims: to remember one of them, the WFP worker Maria Pilar Buzzetti, “Averroè” Studies Center decided to award the ‘Ambassador for Peace’ Price to his memory.

Anna Rita Giammetta, Maria Pilar Buzzetti’s mother, will receive the award on Wednesday 22nd at 7:30 pm in Rome, at Casale Tor di Quinto. Souad Sbai, member of the Italian Diplomatic Academy, an Italian information agency accredited as an NGO and affiliated to the United Nations Department of Public Information, will be in charge of giving the prize to Maria Pilar’s mother.

The event, according to the organizers, “will follow the path marked by Pope Francis’ visit to Abu Dhabi, with the reading of the most significant points of the Human Franternity document regarding interreligious dialogue and women’s rights”
